The Garga-samhita Verse 5.6.34, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 6 (Seeing Shri Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कंसस्य हृदयं शब्दो
विददार घटी-द्वयम्
तद्-रक्षिणः प्रकुपिता
उत्थिता आततायिनः

kaṃsasya hṛdayaṃ śabdo
vidadāra ghaṭī-dvayam
tad-rakṣiṇaḥ prakupitā
utthitā ātatāyinaḥ

kaṃsasya—of Kaṃsa; hṛdayam—the heart; śabdaḥthe sound; vidadāra—broke; ghaṭī-dvayam—for an hour; tad-rakṣiṇaḥ—the guards; prakupitāḥ—angry; utthitā—rose up; ātatāyinaḥ—trying to kill.

English translation of verse 5.6.34:

That sound shattered Kaṃsa's heart. For two hours the guards at that place attacked Kṛṣṇa.
