The Garga-samhita Verse 5.5.37, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 5 (Shri Krishna’s Entrance Into Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

प्रज्वलन् कृष्ण-वाक्येन
घृतेनाग्निर् यथा भृशाम्
कंस-भृत्यो महा-दुष्टः
प्राहेदं पथि माधवम्

prajvalan kṛṣṇa-vākyena
ghṛtenāgnir yathā bhṛśām
kaṃsa-bhṛtyo mahā-duṣṭaḥ
prāhedaṃ pathi mādhavam

prajvalan—inflamed; kṛṣṇa-vākyena—by Lord Kṛṣṇa's words; ghṛtena—by ghee; agniḥ—fire; yathā—as; bhṛśām—greatly; kaṃsaof Kaṃsa; bhṛtyaḥ—a servant; mahā-duṣṭaḥ—a great demon; prāha—spoke; idam—this; pathion the road; mādhavam—to Lord Kṛṣṇa.

English translation of verse 5.5.37:

Inflamed by Lord Kṛṣṇa's words as fire is inflamed by ghee, the washerman, who was a great demon and servant of Kaṃsa, spoke to Lord Kṛṣṇa in the middle of the road.
