आनपत्येन दुःखेन
व्याप्तो ऽहं मुनि-सत्तम
किं करोमि तपो दानं
वद येन भवेत् प्रजा

ānapatyena duḥkhena
vyāpto 'haṃ muni-sattama
kiṃ karomi tapo dānaṃ
vada yena bhavet prajā

ānapatyena-with childlessness; duḥkhena—with happiness; vyāptaḥpervaded; aham—i am; muni-sattamaO best of sages; kim—what?; karomi—will I do; tapaḥausterity; dānamcharity; vadatell; yena—by which; bhavet—may be; prajāa child.

English translation of verse 4.5.10:

Because I have no child I am filled with grief. O best of sages, please describe the austerity or charity that will bring me a child.
