The Garga-samhita Verse 2.25.28, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 25 (The Rasa-dance Pastime) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-भगवान् उवाच
शष्टि-वर्ष-सहस्राणि
युवयोस् तपतोस् तपः
मद्-दर्शनं तेन जातं
सर्वतो नैरपेक्षयोः

śrī-bhagavān uvāca
śaṣṭi-varṣa-sahasrāṇi
yuvayos tapatos tapaḥ
mad-darśanaṃ tena jātaṃ
sarvato nairapekṣayoḥ

śrī-bhagavān uvāca—the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; śaṣṭi-varṣa-sahasrāṇi—sixty-thousand years; yuvayoḥ—of you both; tapatoḥ—austerities; tapaḥausterities; mad-darśanam—to see Me; tena—by that; jātam—produced; sarvataḥ—everywhere; nairapekṣayoḥ—renounced.

English translation of verse 2.25.28:

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Renouncing everything, the two of you performed austerities for sixty-thousand years in order to see Me.
