The Garga-samhita Verse 2.14.18, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 14 (Description of Kaliya’s Story) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कुत्रापि न सुखे जाते
कालियो ऽपि भयातुरः
जगाम देव-देवस्य
शेषस्य चरणान्तिके

kutrāpi na sukhe jāte
kāliyo 'pi bhayāturaḥ
jagāma deva-devasya
śeṣasya caraṇāntike

kutrāpi—somewhere; na—not; sukhe—in happiness; jāte—born; kāliyaḥKaliya; api—even; bhayāturaḥ—terrified; jagāma—went; deva-devasyaof the master of the demigods; śeṣasya—Śeṣa; caraṇāntike—to the feet.

English translation of verse 2.14.18:

Kāliya could not find happiness. He was always afraid. Finally he approached the feet of Lord Ananta, the master of the demigods.
