The Garga-samhita Verse 1.14.40, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 14 (The Liberation of Shakatasura and Trinavarta) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-यशोदोवाच
न जानामि कथं बालो
भार-भूतो गिरीन्द्र-वत्
तस्मान् मया कृतो भूमौ
चक्रवाते महा-भये

śrī-yaśodovāca
na jānāmi kathaṃ bālo
bhāra-bhūto girīndra-vat
tasmān mayā kṛto bhūmau
cakravāte mahā-bhaye

śrī-yaśodā uvāca—Śrī Yaśodā said; na—not; jānāmi—I know; katham—how?; bālaḥinfant; bhāra-bhūtaḥbecome very heavy; giri-indra-vat—as the king of mountains; tasmāt—because of that; mayāby me; kṛtaḥ—done; bhūmau—on the ground; cakravāte—in the whirlwind; mahā-bhaye—terrifying.

English translation of verse 1.14.40:

Śrī Yaśodā said: How did my child become as heavy as the king of mountains? I don't know. That is why during the terrible whirlwind I placed Him on the ground.
