तं दृष्ट्वा स्थूल-देहाढ्यं
उत्कचाख्यं महा-बालम्
शशाप रोष-युग् विप्रो
विदेहो भव दुर्मते
taṃ dṛṣṭvā sthūla-dehāḍhyaṃ
utkacākhyaṃ mahā-bālam
śaśāpa roṣa-yug vipro
videho bhava durmate
tam—him; dṛṣṭvā—seeing; sthūla—big; deha—body; āḍhyam—opulent; utkaca-ākhyam—named Utkaca; mahā-bālam—very powerful; śaśāpa—cursed; roṣa-yuk—angry; vipraḥ—brāhmaṇa; videhaḥ—without a body; bhava—become; durmate—O evil-hearted one.
English translation of verse 1.14.19:
Seeing the powerful giant named Utkaca, the brāhmaṇa became angry and cursed him, "O evil-hearted one, become bodyless!"
