गृहीत्वा वैष्णवं चापं
सज्जं कृत्वाथ दैत्य-राट्
देवान् विद्रावयाम् आस
बाणौघैश् च धनुः-स्वनैः
gṛhītvā vaiṣṇavaṃ cāpaṃ
sajjaṃ kṛtvātha daitya-rāṭ
devān vidrāvayām āsa
bāṇaughaiś ca dhanuḥ-svanaiḥ
gṛhītvā—taking; vaiṣṇavaṃ—of Lord Viṣṇu; cāpam—the bow; sajjaṃ—

preparation; kṛtvā—having done; atha—then; daitya-rāṭ—the king of the demons;
devān—the demigods; vidrāvayām āsa—drove away; bāṇa—of arrows; aughais—

Taking the bow of Lord Viṣṇu and stringing it, with a flood of arrows accompanied by the twanging sound of the bow, the demon-king Kaṃsa made the demigods flee.
