मार्गे च कौषला नर्यो
रामं दृट्ट्वाति-सुन्दरम्
मनसा वव्रिरे तं वै
पतिं कन्दर्प-मोहनम्
mārge ca kauṣalā naryo
rāmaṃ dṛṭṭvāti-sundaram
manasā vavrire taṃ vai
patiṃ kandarpa-mohanam
mārge—on the road; ca—also; kauṣalāḥ naryaḥ—the women of Koṣala; rāmam—Lord Rāma; dṛṭṭvā—seeing; ati—very; sundaram—handsome; manasā—with their hearts; vavrire—chose; tam—Him; vai—indeed; patim—as their husband; kandarpa—than many Kāmadevas; mohanam—charming.
English translation of verse 1.4.41:
Seeing on the path very handsome Lord Rāma, who is more charming than a host of Kāmadevas, the women of Koṣala in their hearts chose Him to be their husband.
