সবা’ হৈতে ভক্তের মহিমা বাডাইযা সঙ্গীত কবিত্ব বিপ্র কর’ তুমি গিযা ॥ ৪৫৪ ॥

सबा’ हैते भक्तेर महिमा बाडाइया सङ्गीत कवित्व विप्र कर’ तुमि गिया ॥ ४५४ ॥

sabā’ haite bhaktera mahimā bāḍāiyā saṅgīta kavitva vipra kara’ tumi giyā || 454 ||

saba’ haite bhaktera mahima badaiya sangita kavitva vipra kara’ tumi giya (454)

English translation:

(454) “O brāhmaṇa, go and compose songs and poetry describing the supremacy of the devotees’ glories.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (1.16.6) it is stated:

tat kathyatāṃ mahā-bhāga yadi kṛṣṇa-kathāśrayam athavāsya padāmbhoja- makaranda-lihāṃ satām

“Please describe all these incidents if they relate to the topics of Lord Kṛṣṇa. The devotees of the Lord are accustomed to licking up the honey available from the lotus feet of the Lord.” In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (6.17.40) it is stated:

māhātmyaṃ viṣṇu-bhaktānāṃ śrutvā bandhād vimucyate

“If one hears the glories of Citraketu from a pure devotee, he is freed from the conditional life of material existence.”
