The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.3.26, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). This is verse 2.3.26 contained in Chapter 3—Bhajana (loving service)—of Part two (prathama-khanda).

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration, Word-for-word and English translation of verse 2.3.26:

उपानयन् महा-सिद्धिर् अनिमाद्य ममाग्रतः ।
ययाचे च पृथिव्य्-आदिवत् तत्र मद्-अवस्थितिम् ॥ २६ ॥

upānayan mahā-siddhir animādya mamāgrataḥ |
yayāce ca pṛthivy-ādivat tatra mad-avasthitim || 26 ||

upānayat–she brought; mahā–great; siddhīḥ–mystic powers; aṇima-ādyaḥ–the power of becoming minute and so forth; mama–me; agrataḥ–before; yayāce–she implored; ca–also; pṛthivī-ādivat–just like Dharaṇī-devī and the other Deities; tatra–there; mat–of me; avasthitim–to reside there.

Just as Dharaṇī-devī and the Deities of the other coverings had done, that goddess of the material energy respectfully placed before me a collection of gifts, such as aṇimā and the other mystic perfections, and implored me to stay there for some time.

Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda

(By Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)

Śrī Gopa-kumāra says, “That Prakṛti-devī also offered me gifts of mystic perfections such as aṇimā, by which one becomes as small as an atom. She asked that I stay in her layer, just as Pṛthvī, the goddess earth, and the others had done.”
