Source: academia.edu: Dvādaśa-mūrti in Tamil Tradition (iconography)Viṭṭu (விட்டு) (Tamil) (in Sanskrit: Viṣṇu) refers to one of the Twelve Sacred Names of Viṣṇu (Dvādaśamūrti), according to the chapter 2.7 of the Tiruvāymoḻi.—Viṭṭu and Matucūtaṉ are the lords. Viṣṇu’s feet, hands and eyes are lotus-like. His body is a black-hill. He holds the caṅku/śaṅkha and cakkaram/pariti/cakra. Viṭṭu is the Vallabha. Other epithets that come under Caturviṃśati are notified in the ‘Nālāyiram’ sporadically.
Shilpashastra (शिल्पशास्त्र, śilpaśāstra) represents the ancient Indian science (shastra) of creative arts (shilpa) such as sculpture, iconography and painting. Closely related to Vastushastra (architecture), they often share the same literature.
