Praṇāyya (प्रणाय्य).—a.

1) Dear, beloved.

2) Upright, honest, straight-forward.

3) Disliked, disapproved; न प्रणाय्यो जनः कच्चिन् निकाय्यं तेऽधितिष्ठति (na praṇāyyo janaḥ kaccin nikāyyaṃ te'dhitiṣṭhati) Bhaṭṭikāvya 6.66.

4) Free from passion, indifferent to worldly attachments (virakta).

5) Fit, worthy; प्रबूयात् प्रणाय्याय वान्तेवासिने (prabūyāt praṇāyyāya vāntevāsine) Ch. Up.3.11.5.
