pēca (पेच) [or पेंच, pēñca].—m ( P) A twist or circumvolution (as of a turban); a turn (round anything) of a rope or cord; a turn or twist (of anything wrenched or turned round). 2 fig. An artful turn or twist; a feint, wile, trick (among wrestlers): also (in argument, dealing &c.) a trap, snare, sub- tle manœuvre. 3 A trouble, a difficulty, a perplexing affair: also a strait, dilemma, scrape, a perplexing condition. v yē, or pēcānta paḍaṇēṃ-sāmpaḍaṇēṃ & dharaṇēṃ-pāḍaṇēṃ-āṇaṇēṃ. 4 A screw or a single helix.
