A sovereign, son of Duṣyanta and Śakuntalā, after whom India is called Bharata-khaṇḍa; சகுந்த லைக்கும் துஷ்யந்தனுக்கும் பிறந்தவனும் பரதகண்டம் என்று இந்தியா தேசத்துக்குப் பெயர்வழங்குதற்குக் காரணமானவனுமான ஓர் அரசன்.
