Kapotabandha (कपोतबन्ध).—A type of adhiṣṭhāna (‘pedestal’);—Kapotabandha-adhiṣṭhāna is mentioned in Mayamata (verse 14.36). According to Mayamata, kapotabandha-adhiṣṭhāna should possess a well-rounded kumuda and above that, a kapota. The major mouldings of this type of adhiṣṭhāna therefore are, upāna, jagati, kumuda, kaṇṭha, kapota and prati. The kumuda can be a tripaṭṭakumuda or a vṛttakumuda.
