Source: Wisdom Library: Śilpa-śāstraŚrībandha (श्रीबन्ध) refers to a variety of adhiṣṭhāna, which is a pedestal or base of a structure, and a very important component in the art of construction (śilpa). Śrībandha is mentioned in the Mānasāra (chapter 14) as having a further four sub-varieties. It is also mentioned in the Mayamata, Kāśyapaśilpa, Śilparatna and the Vimānārcanakalpa. Śrībandha is classified under its parent group named pratibandha, according to the Kāśyapaśilpa.
Shilpashastra (शिल्पशास्त्र, śilpaśāstra) represents the ancient Indian science (shastra) of creative arts (shilpa) such as sculpture, iconography and painting. Closely related to Vastushastra (architecture), they often share the same literature.

Source: Shodhganga: Temples of Salem region Up to 1336 ADŚrībandha (श्रीबन्ध).—A type of adhiṣṭhāna (‘pedestal’);—Mānasāra (verses 14.47-54) Mayamata (verses 14.29-30) and Kāśyapaśilpa (verses 6.51-56) mention śrībandha-adhiṣṭhāna. Mānasāra mentions four sub-varieties of this plinth of equal size. Śrībandha-adhiṣṭhāna, in its arrangement of mouldings, is basically a kapotabandha-adhiṣṭhāna. Śrībandha-adhiṣṭhāna consists of all the essential major mouldings like upāna, jagati, kumuda, kaṇṭha, kapota and prati. All these mouldings should be flanked or bordered by richly carved lotus petals (dalapadmas) throughout. Indentations (sub-mouldings) also must be rich. The mouldings should be carved with appropriate floral and faunal motifs and decorative designs.
Vastushastra (वास्तुशास्त्र, vāstuśāstra) refers to the ancient Indian science (shastra) of architecture (vastu), dealing with topics such architecture, sculpture, town-building, fort building and various other constructions. Vastu also deals with the philosophy of the architectural relation with the cosmic universe.
