5.4. Purpose of Temples

Jainism does not acknowledge the idea of a God who made the universe and who therefore employs a sort of power to which the entire of his creation, including individuals, must submit itself.’[1]

If only we start to focus our whole lives around an idea so free, wouldn’t there be fearlessness and independence!

Where even visiting the temple would be considered like to meet someone who has attained the supreme state and in doing so exploring and refining one’s own capabilities for the same.

‘What may amaze the normal outcast about Jainas visiting their temples is that they don't go there to ask anything from the Tirthankara, at least not in principle.’[2]

However most of the people have forgotten the main idea of visiting temples.
