The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विवेकवानुदारात्मा विजितेन्द्रिय उच्यते ।
वासनावीचिवेगेन भवाब्धौ न स मुह्यते ॥ १५ ॥

vivekavānudārātmā vijitendriya ucyate |
vāsanāvīcivegena bhavābdhau na sa muhyate || 15 ||

The discriminative and judging soul, becomes ennobled and magnanimous, and keeps its command over the feelings and senses; and is not impelled by the waves of its desires, to be tossed about on the surface of the wide ocean of this world.
