उ॒ग्रो ज॑ज्ञे वी॒र्या॑य स्व॒धावा॒ञ्चक्रि॒रपो॒ नर्यो॒ यत्क॑रि॒ष्यन् । जग्मि॒र्युवा॑ नृ॒षद॑न॒मवो॑भिस्त्रा॒ता न॒ इन्द्र॒ एन॑सो म॒हश्चि॑त् ॥
उग्रो जज्ञे वीर्याय स्वधावाञ्चक्रिरपो नर्यो यत्करिष्यन् । जग्मिर्युवा नृषदनमवोभिस्त्राता न इन्द्र एनसो महश्चित् ॥
ugro jajñe vīryāya svadhāvāñ cakrir apo naryo yat kariṣyan | jagmir yuvā nṛṣadanam avobhis trātā na indra enaso mahaś cit ||
English translation:
“The fierce and powerful (Indra) has been born for heroic (deeds); friendly to man, he is theaccomplisher of whatever act he undertakes to perform; ever youthful, he invests the (sacrificial) hall withdefences (against interruption); be our preserver, Indra, from heinous sin.”
