Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. चित्तमोहमिवायुक्तं भार्गवस्य महामतेः ।
पराजयमिवेन्द्रस्य द्विषद्भ्यो भीमकर्मणः ॥ ४ ॥

cittamohamivāyuktaṃ bhārgavasya mahāmateḥ |
parājayamivendrasya dviṣadbhyo bhīmakarmaṇaḥ || 4 ||
