The Garga-samhita Verse 4.5.4, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 5 (The Story of the Ayodhya Women) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

भार्यानां षट्-सहस्राणि
बभूवुस् तस्य भू-पतेः
रूपवत्यः कञ्ज-नेत्रा
वन्ध्यत्वं ताः समागताः

bhāryānāṃ ṣaṭ-sahasrāṇi
babhūvus tasya bhū-pateḥ
rūpavatyaḥ kañja-netrā
vandhyatvaṃ tāḥ samāgatāḥ

bhāryānām—of wives; ṣaṭ-sahasrāṇi—six thousand; babhūvuḥ—were; tasya—of him; bhū-pateḥ—the king; rūpavatyaḥ—beautiful; kañja-netrāḥ—lotus-eyed; vandhyatvam—barrenness; tāḥ—they; samāgatāḥ—attained.

English translation of verse 4.5.4:

However, King Vimala's six thousand beautiful, lotus-eyed wives were all barren.
