The Garga-samhita Verse 3.9.37, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 3 of Chapter 9 (The Birth of Shri Giriraja) of Canto 3 (giriraja-khanda).

ऊर्ध्वं समुन्नतं जातं
पञ्चाशत्-कोटि-योजनम्
करीन्द्र-वत् स्थितं शश्वत्
पञ्चाशत्-कोटि-विस्तृतम्

ūrdhvaṃ samunnataṃ jātaṃ
pañcāśat-koṭi-yojanam
karīndra-vat sthitaṃ śaśvat
pañcāśat-koṭi-vistṛtam

ūrdhvam—up; samunnatam—raised; jātam—born; pañcāśat-koṭi-yojanam—4,000,000,000 miles; karīndra-vat—like the king of elephants; sthitam—situated; śaśvateternally; pañcāśat-koṭi-vistṛtam—five hundred million.

English translation of verse 3.9.37:

It was four billion miles tall. It is four billion miles tall eternally. It was like a gigantic elephant.
