ऊर्ध्वं समुन्नतं जातं
पञ्चाशत्-कोटि-योजनम्
करीन्द्र-वत् स्थितं शश्वत्
पञ्चाशत्-कोटि-विस्तृतम्
ūrdhvaṃ samunnataṃ jātaṃ
pañcāśat-koṭi-yojanam
karīndra-vat sthitaṃ śaśvat
pañcāśat-koṭi-vistṛtam
ūrdhvam—up; samunnatam—raised; jātam—born; pañcāśat-koṭi-yojanam—4,000,000,000 miles; karīndra-vat—like the king of elephants; sthitam—situated; śaśvat—eternally; pañcāśat-koṭi-vistṛtam—five hundred million.
English translation of verse 3.9.37:
It was four billion miles tall. It is four billion miles tall eternally. It was like a gigantic elephant.
