The Garga-samhita Verse 2.13.28, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 13 (The Story of Shesha) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-शेष उवाच
आधारो ऽयं भविष्यामि
मद्-आधारश् च को भवेत्
निराधारः कथं तोये
तिष्ठामि कथय प्रभो

śrī-śeṣa uvāca
ādhāro 'yaṃ bhaviṣyāmi
mad-ādhāraś ca ko bhavet
nirādhāraḥ kathaṃ toye
tiṣṭhāmi kathaya prabho

śrī-śeṣaḥ uvāca—Śrī Śeṣa said; ādhāraḥholding up; ayamthat; bhaviṣyāmi—I will become; mad-ādhāraḥ—holding up Me; ca—and; kaḥ—who?; bhavet—will be; nirādhāraḥ—without someone to hold Me up; katham—how?; toye—in the water; tiṣṭhāmi—I will stand; kathaya—please tell; prabhaḥ—O Lord.

English translation of verse 2.13.28:

Śrī Śeṣa said: I will hold up Bhū-maṇḍala. But who will hold Me up? Without support how can I stand in the water? O Lord, please tell Me.
