The Garga-samhita Verse 2.6.23, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 6 (The Liberation of Aghasura) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

वत्सासुरस् तज्-जिघांशुः
सो ऽपि दैवेन मारितः
वत्सार्थं स्व-गृहाद् बालं
न बहिः करयाम्य् अहम्

vatsāsuras taj-jighāṃśuḥ
so 'pi daivena māritaḥ
vatsārthaṃ sva-gṛhād bālaṃ
na bahiḥ karayāmy aham

vatsāsurasVatsasura; taj-jighāṃśuḥ—yearning to kill Him; saḥ—he; api—even; daivena—by fate; māritaḥ—was killed; vatsārtham—for the sake of the calves; sva-gṛhāt—from His own home; bālam—the boy; na—not; bahiḥoutside; karayāmi—cause to do; aham—I.

English translation of verse 2.6.23:

When he tried to kill my boy, Vatsāsura was himself killed by his own fate.

Now I do not allow my boy to go outside to care for the calves.
