अहो कृष्णम् ऋते कं वा
व्रजाम शरणं त्व् इह
पूतनायै मोक्ष-गतिं
ददौ पतित-पावनः
aho kṛṣṇam ṛte kaṃ vā
vrajāma śaraṇaṃ tv iha
pūtanāyai mokṣa-gatiṃ
dadau patita-pāvanaḥ
ahaḥ—oh; kṛṣṇam—for Kṛṣṇa; ṛte—except; kam—to whom?; vā—or; vrajāma—we go; śaraṇam—shelter; tu—certainly; iha—here; pūtanāyai—to Pūtanā; mokṣa-gatim—the destination of liberation; dadau—gave; patita—of the fallen; pāvanaḥ—the purifier.
English translation of verse 1.13.28:
Of whom else but Kṛṣṇa will we take shelter? The purifier of the fallen, He gave liberation to Pūtanā.
