The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.18.215, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 215 of Madhya-khanda chapter 18—“Mahaprabhu’s Dancing as a Gopi”.

ইহা না বুঝিযা কোন কোন পাপী জনা প্রভুরে বলযে `গোপী’ খাইযা আপনা ॥ ২১৫ ॥
इहा ना बुझिया कोन कोन पापी जना प्रभुरे बलये `गोपी’ खाइया आपना ॥ २१५ ॥
ihā nā bujhiyā kona kona pāpī janā prabhure balaye `gopī’ khāiyā āpanā || 215 ||
iha na bujhiya kona kona papi jana prabhure balaye `gopi’ khaiya apana (215)
English translation:
(215) Without understanding this fact, some sinful persons ruined themselves by calling the Lord a gopī.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
The Supreme Lord is the object of worship. If He is considered in the category of āśraya-vigraha, or devotee, and described as a gopī, the Lord would then be relegated to merely an energy rather than the energetic.
The Māyāvādīs and nondevotees cannot understand Lord Gaurasundara as the source of all viṣṇu-tattvas. The exhibition of pastimes appropriate to an āśraya by the viṣaya-vigraha, or shelter of all devotees, impedes unfortunate persons’ realization of the truth.
