The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.13.95, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 95 of Madhya-khanda chapter 13—“The Deliverance of Jagai and Madhai”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.13.95:

মদ্যপেরে কৈলে যেন কৃষ্ণ-উপদেশ উচিত তাহার শাস্তি—প্রাণ অবশেষ” ॥ ৯৫ ॥

मद्यपेरे कैले येन कृष्ण-उपदेश उचित ताहार शास्ति—प्राण अवशेष” ॥ ९५ ॥

madyapere kaile yena kṛṣṇa-upadeśa ucita tāhāra śāsti—prāṇa avaśeṣa” || 95 ||

madyapere kaile yena krsna-upadesa ucita tahara sasti—prana avasesa” (95)

English translation:

(95) “Because You have tried to give Kṛṣṇa’s instructions to drunkards, we have received proper punishment—almost losing our lives.”

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

Haridāsa said, “It is an offense to instruct faithless persons in the chanting of the name of Hari. Since we have come forward to instruct unqualified offenders, the proper punishment for our offense has been written on our foreheads.”
