The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.10.191, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 191 of Madhya-khanda chapter 10—“Conclusion of the Lord’s Maha-prakasha Pastimes”.

`ভক্তি হৈতে বড আছে’, যে ইহা বাখানে নিরন্তর জাঠি মোরে মারে সেই জনে ॥ ১৯১ ॥
`भक्ति हैते बड आछे’, ये इहा वाखाने निरन्तर जाठि मोरे मारे सेइ जने ॥ १९१ ॥
`bhakti haite baḍa āche’, ye ihā vākhāne nirantara jāṭhi more māre sei jane || 191 ||
`bhakti haite bada ache’, ye iha vakhane nirantara jathi more mare sei jane (191)
English translation:
(191) “Anyone who explains, `There is something superior to devotional service,’ constantly beats Me with a stick.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
“Those who consider that karma, jñāna, yoga, and Vedic study are equal to or greater than devotional service are beating Me.”
The word jāṭhi means “stick.” There is a community in Punjab known as jāṭha, who carry sticks in their hands. Later on many of them entered the disciplic succession founded by Guru Nanak.
