The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 1.6.99, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. श्री-परीक्षिद् उवाच—
कुमतिः कंस-माताह स-हासं धुन्वती शिरः ।
हुं हुं देवकि निर्बुद्धे बुद्धं बुद्धं मयाऽधुना ॥ ९९ ॥śrī-parīkṣid uvāca—
kumatiḥ kaṃsa-mātāha sa-hāsaṃ dhunvatī śiraḥ |
huṃ huṃ devaki nirbuddhe buddhaṃ buddhaṃ mayā'dhunā || 99 ||Śrī Parīkṣit Mahārāja said: Hearing this, Padmāvatī, the mother of Kaṃsa who possessed a wicked intelligence, shook her head, began to laugh and spoke thus, “Arey! Stupid Devakī! ‘Aha, Aha…’ I understand…I understand everything very well now!”

To show the worthlessness of the words of Śrī Uddhava, the mother of Kaṃsa, Padmāvatī, shaking her head and laughing, began to speak: “Aha, Aha, I now understand!” To indicate her grave knowledge or intense sorrow, she began to speak by making the guttural sounds of “huṃ, huṃ.”
“Arey! (in disgust) Stupid, inconsiderate Devakī!” To indicate the force of her mindset, buddham (I understand) appears twice.
