1. The law of karma, as irresistible; வலியதாகிய ஊழ். தொல்லை வல்வினைத் தொந்தந்தா னென்செயும் [valiyathagiya uzh. thollai valvinaith thonthantha nenseyum] (தேவாரம் [thevaram] 4, 4).
2. Bad karma; தீவினை. ஒழிகென வொழியா தூட்டும் வல்வினை [thivinai. ozhigena vozhiya thuttum valvinai] (சிலப்பதிகாரம் அரும்பதவுரை [silappathigaram arumbathavurai] 10, 171).
