Rūḍhiśabda (रूढिशब्द).—a word which conveys its sense by रूढि (rūḍhi) (usage) as opposed to योग (yoga) (etymology); बहुषु कुशानां लातुः गुणेषु सत्सु निपुणतायामेव कुशलशब्दो रोहाद् रूढिशब्द एव भवति (bahuṣu kuśānāṃ lātuḥ guṇeṣu satsu nipuṇatāyāmeva kuśalaśabdo rohād rūḍhiśabda eva bhavati) ŚB. on MS.6.7.22.
