Vyakarana (Sanskrit grammar)
Rau (रौ).—Personal ending substituted for the प्रथमपुरुषद्विवचन (prathamapuruṣadvivacana) (3rd pers, dual affix तस् (tas)) in the periphrastic or first future; e. g. कर्तारौ (kartārau); cf. लुट (luṭa); प्रथमस्य डारौरसः (prathamasya ḍāraurasaḥ) P. II. 4.85.

Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
