Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarPṛthvādi (पृथ्वादि).—A class of words headed by the word पृथु (pṛthu) to which the taddhita affix इमन् (iman) (इमनिच् (imanic)) is added optionally with the other usual affixes अण्, त्व (aṇ, tva) and तल् (tal) in the sense of 'nature'; e. g. प्रथिमा, पार्थवम्, पृथुत्वम्, पृथुता (prathimā, pārthavam, pṛthutvam, pṛthutā); similarly म्रदिमा, मार्दवम् मृदुत्वम्, मृदुता पटिमा पाटवम्, पटुता पटुत्वम् (mradimā, mārdavam mṛdutvam, mṛdutā paṭimā pāṭavam, paṭutā paṭutvam) ; cf. KS. om P.V.1.122.
