Piśācamaṇḍalī (पिशाचमण्डली) refers to one of the sixteen varieties of Maṇḍalī snakes, according to the Kāśyapa Saṃhitā: an ancient Sanskrit text from the Pāñcarātra tradition dealing with both Tantra and Viṣacikitsā—an important topic from Āyurveda which deals with the study of Toxicology (Viṣavidyā or Sarpavidyā).—Kāśyapa sources his antidotes from a multitude plants, a few minerals, salts and animal products available in nature. All these plants fall under various groups called gaṇas, as pronounced by the Ayurvedic Nigaṇṭus.

Symptoms of Piśācamaṇḍalī snake-bite: The bruised limbs are dicoloured and wrought with extreme pain. Limited and incoherent speech, thirst and demeanour that of a Piśāca.

Treatment of Piśācamaṇḍalī snake-bite: A gruel made of the leaves of yellow Arka, leaves and the sap of long pepper-fruit must be given for inhalation nasally. Paste made of rice root of Vacā, Vakula and sandalwood with buttermilk and ghee must be smeared on the bite-wound. Ghee burns the wound. A measure (khāri) of red and black Puccha must be applied on the wound.
