1) To touch, rub or stroke gently; परामृशन् हर्षजडेन पाणिना तदीयमङ्गं कुलिशव्रणाङ्कितम् (parāmṛśan harṣajaḍena pāṇinā tadīyamaṅgaṃ kuliśavraṇāṅkitam) R.3.68; Śiśupālavadha 17.11; Mṛcchakaṭika 5.28.
2) To lay hands on, attack, assail, seize; Mṛcchakaṭika 1.39.
3) To defile, pollute, outrage (a woman or a temple).
