Source: ORA: Amanaska (king of all yogas): A Critical Edition and Annotated Translation by Jason BirchNidrānta (निद्रान्त) refers to the “end of sleep”, according to Bodhasāra, in the section on Layayoga (p. 118, v. 3).—Accordingly, “At the beginning of sleep and the end of waking, and at the end of sleep (nidrānta) and the onset of waking, absorption of mind occurs. In that [state], one should contemplate the self”.
Yoga is originally considered a branch of Hindu philosophy (astika), but both ancient and modern Yoga combine the physical, mental and spiritual. Yoga teaches various physical techniques also known as āsanas (postures), used for various purposes (eg., meditation, contemplation, relaxation).
