Narasiṃhajayantī (नरसिंहजयन्ती) (lit. “the birthday celebrations in honor of Narasiṃha”) is the name of chapter 4 of the Śeṣasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra text comprising 2800 Sanskrit verses narrated by Śeṣa (=Ananta) to Nārada and dealing primarily with the use of the appropriate mantras for various occasions such as jayantī celebrations.

[Description of the chapter narasiṃhajayantī]: In this chapter, Śeṣa turns his attention to the rules for domestic celebrations of the birth-date of Narasiṃha (i.e., commemorating the time when, in the tretāyuga-age, he emerged from the pillar). These celebrations are to be done on the fourteenth day of the bright fortnight of madhu (or vasanta) month—in such years as this day falls on a Saturday. The preparations start in the morning and culminate in the evening with special offerings (17 ff.) to Narasiṃha. Other deities are also to be honored, and yantra-worship is also to be undertaken. A vigil is to be kept during the night, all the while doing pūjā, japa, etc. On the next day an icon of Narasiṃha is to be given to some deserving person, and Vaiṣṇavites are to be feasted (1-31a). The benefits that accrue to one who undertakes these patterns of celebrations are given (31b-35).
