Source: Google Books: ManthanabhairavatantramMahogracaryā (महोग्रचर्या) refers to “very severe spiritual discipline”, according to the Ṭīkā (commentary) on the Manthānabhairavatantra, a vast sprawling work that belongs to a corpus of Tantric texts concerned with the worship of the goddess Kubjikā.—Accordingly, “[...] (It is written): ‘and the nine sons of Caryānātha... etc.’ (The Siddha) who has authority in the Kṛta Age is called Tūṣṇīnātha. He practiced very severe spiritual discipline (mahogracaryā) (and so from) then on his name was Caryānātha. [...]”.
