Lokahita) refers to “(that which is done) in order to benefit the world” [?], according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.20 (“The story of the submarine fire”).—Accordingly, after the Ocean spoke to Brahmā: “On hearing the words of the ocean I remembered Śiva. I spoke with love in order to benefit the world [i.e., laukikahita—laukikaṃ hitamāvahan]:—[...]”.
