Krodhāviṣṭa (क्रोधाविष्ट) refers to one who is “furious” (i.e., one afflicted by anger), according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.19. Accordingly as Brahmā narrated to Nārada:—“[...] thus in many ways, the timid and frightened Devas and the sages eulogised the lord of Devas [viz., Maheśvara or Śiva] who was furious (krodhāviṣṭa). Suspecting some terrible disaster, Dakṣa raised his hand and rushed at Śiva, preventing Him with shouts of ‘O don’t do this, O don’t do this’”.
