Indumitra (इन्दुमित्र).—Author of अनुन्यास (anunyāsa), a commentary on Nyāsa, the well-known commentary on the Kāśikavṛtti by Jinendrabuddhi. Many quotations from the Anunyāsa are found in the Paribhāṣāvṛtti of Sīradeva. The word इन्दु (indu) is often used for इन्दुमित्र (indumitra); cf. एतस्मिन् वाक्ये इन्दुमैत्रेययोः शाश्वतिको विरोधः (etasmin vākye indumaitreyayoḥ śāśvatiko virodhaḥ) Sīra. Pari. 36.

Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
