Source: What is India: Epigraphia Indica volume XXXI (1955-56)Dhārapura is the name of an ancient city where was worshipped the god Bhuvaneśvara, as mentioned in the “Alarpur of Narasiṃha II” (1294 A. D.). If the reference to the god Bhuvaneśvara Dhārapura actually refers to the present Bhubaneswar, originally named, no doubt, after a deity of this name, it may be suggested that the fifth plot of the gift land comprised modern Alalpur near Bhubaneswar
These copper plate (mentioning Dhārapura) were found while digging the foundation for a house in the village Alalpur. The grant was made by king Narasiṃha II in february 1294 A.D. It's object was to increase the king’s longevity, health, wealth and majesty.
