Bhīmavijaya (भीमविजय) or Bhīmavijayagaṇi is the author of a commentary on the Sindūraprakara by Somaprabhācārya (classified as gnomic literature), which is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—Information about the date and the author of the commentary (avacūri) is provided in Sanskrit verses which come after the end of Somaprabha’s work proper. The author, Bhīmavijaya, belonged to the tapāgaccha. He was the disciple of Muktivijayagaṇi. His avacūri was composed in VS 1746 (= 1689 ce; chronogram explained in the commentary) when Dharmavijaya spent the rainy-season in a place called Nārāyaṇa. This copy was made not even fifty years later.
