Source: academia.edu: Tessitori Collection IĀryarakṣita (आर्यरक्षित) or Āryarakṣitasūri is the founder of the añcala-gaccha, according to the Añcalagaccha-paṭṭāvalī (dealing with Jain lineages history), which is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The life of Āryarakṣita-sūri (no. 48), the real founder of this gaccha, born VS 1136 (1079 CE) is the longest one and has the form of a real narration. Among the main facts are the following: He gave the name Vidhipakṣa to his group in VS 1169, he also instituted the second name añcalagaccha.
