This page describes Dharmanatha’s omniscience which is the eighteenth part of chapter V of the English translation of the Shri Dharmanatha-caritra, contained within the “Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Caritra”: a massive Jain narrative relgious text composed by Hemacandra in the 12th century. Shri Dharmanatha in jainism is one of the 63 illustrious beings or worthy persons.

Part 18: Dharmanātha’s omniscience

Now the blessed Dharma came to the initiation-garden Vaprakāñcana, after he had wandered for two years as an ordinary ascetic. As the Lord was engaged in the second meditation under a dadhiparṇa tree, his omniscience arose from a two-day fast on the full moon of Pauṣa in the constellation Puṣpa.

The Lord delivered a sermon in the divine samavasaraṇa to the forty-three gaṇabhṛts, Ariṣṭa, ct cetera.
