Objectives of the Proposed Thesis

With an indepth study of the Mālatīmādhava the thesis proposes———

• To examine the literary excellence of the Mālatīmādhava authored by Bhavabhūti.

• To examine the facts relating to the society during Bhavabhūti’s time i.e. the 8th century A.D.

• To examine the cultural aspects which were prevalent during Bhavabhūti’s time.

Methodology

In the present work descriptive and analytical methods have been used. To analyse various matters in this thesis the original Sanskrit works as well as various reference books have been taken for consultation.
