एवं परम्परा-प्राप्तम् इमं राजर्षयो विदुः ।
स कालेनेह महता योगो नष्टः परन्तप ॥ २ ॥evaṃ paramparā-prāptam imaṃ rājarṣayo viduḥ |
sa kāleneha mahatā yogo naṣṭaḥ parantapa || 2 ||evam–in this way; paramparā–by disciplic succession; prāptam–received; imam–this; rāja-ṛṣayaḥ–the saintly kings; viduḥ–understood; saḥ–that; kālena–by time; iha–in this world; mahatā–by the great influence;yogaḥ–the process for connecting with the Supreme Lord; naṣṭaḥ–lost; parantapa–O conqueror of the foe.
O Arjuna, this yoga was thus received in disciplic succession and the saintly kings understood it through that process, but after a prolonged lapse of time, it almost become lost to the world.
