द्वाव् ऊचतुः
एको ऽयं ब्राह्मणो लोभी
निधिभिः किं करिश्यति
लक्शं दिव्यं देहि चास्मै
वृत्तिं रक्श तथोत्तराम्
dvāv ūcatuḥ
eko 'yaṃ brāhmaṇo lobhī
nidhibhiḥ kiṃ kariśyati
lakśaṃ divyaṃ dehi cāsmai
vṛttiṃ rakśa tathottarām
dvau—the two; ūcatuḥ—said; ekaḥ—one; ayam—this; brāhmaṇaḥ—brāhmaṇa; lobhī—greedy; nidhibhiḥ—with treasures; kim—what is the need?; kariśyati—will do; lakśam—a hundred thousand; divyam—splendid; dehi—give; ca—and; asmai— to him; vṛttim—wealth; rakśa—protect; tathā—then; uttaram—great.
English translation of verse 6.10.36:
The two ministers said: What will this greedy brāhmaṇa do with those great treasures? Give him a hundred thousand other things and keep the nine great treasures for yourself.
