The Garga-samhita Verse 4.14.24, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 14 (The Story of the Jalandharis) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कांश्चिद् वीरान् स-कवचान्
गदया वज्र-कल्पया
पातयाम् आस भू-पृष्ठे
वज्रेणेन्द्रो यथा गिरिम्

kāṃścid vīrān sa-kavacān
gadayā vajra-kalpayā
pātayām āsa bhū-pṛṣṭhe
vajreṇendro yathā girim

kāṃścit—some; vīrān—warriors; sa-kavacān—with their armor; gadayā—with the club; vajra-kalpayā—like lightning; pātayām āsa—made fall; bhū-pṛṣṭhe—to the ground; vajreṇa—with the thunderbolt; indraḥIndra; yathā—as; girim—a mountain.

English translation of verse 4.14.24:

As King Indra with his thunderbolt knocks down a great mountain, so Kaṃsa with his thunderbolt club, knocked many armored warriors to the ground.
